Birding Sites

Eastern Kansas is a birder's paradise. The patchwork of forest and prairie in this region provides habitat for a diversity of year-round resident and breeding species. We're also on the edge of the Central Flyway Migration Corridor, so we see a large number of additional species during spring and fall migrations.

On this page, you'll find directions to some of our favorite birding spots when you want to get out of town into natural areas. Click on the name of each location to go to a new page with a map, special directions, and a list of birds you are likely to see there.
